A dramatic and violent incident unfolded in Kikuyu after one person was seriously injured while attempting to disrupt a DCP rally headlined by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his allies.
According to reports by TV47, the unidentified individual tried to force his way into the venue while carrying a sack believed to contain live bees.
The suspect is alleged to have intended to release the bees into the crowd to trigger panic and bring the meeting to a halt.
However, before the plan could be executed, a confrontation broke out between the man and hundreds of supporters who had gathered for the event.
In the ensuing chaos, the suspect was stabbed, leaving him with serious injuries.
He was later rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
It remains unclear who carried out the stabbing, as confusion and fear spread rapidly among attendees amid the unfolding drama.
The incident comes at a time when political tensions are running high in Kikuyu, an area widely considered the political stronghold of National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
Gachagua and his allies are currently touring the region as part of their political engagements.
The tense atmosphere reportedly forced some business owners in Kikuyu Town to temporarily shut down their premises for fear of potential violence.
Prior to his visit, Gachagua had claimed that groups of hired goons were being mobilized to disrupt the meeting.
