A senior police officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road has surrendered to authorities in Naivasha following allegations that he fatally stabbed his wife.
The officer, identified as Daniel Macharia, is accused of killing his wife, Florence Nyaga, at their home along Lumumba Drive in Roysambu, Nairobi, over the past weekend.
Preliminary reports indicate that Nyaga was stabbed multiple times at the couple’s residence.
Police sources confirmed that Macharia later presented himself to law enforcement officers in Naivasha.
He is expected to be transferred to Nairobi to assist detectives with ongoing investigations.
Florence’s body was discovered on Saturday by her daughter, who had become concerned after repeated calls went unanswered.
The daughter reportedly visited her mother’s rented home along Lumumba Drive and found her lying in a pool of blood.
She immediately reported the matter to the police.
The body has been moved to a mortuary pending a postmortem examination as investigators continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
