Security agencies have once again foiled a suspected terror plot by the Al-Shabaab militant group targeting Nairobi.

According to reports, months of surveillance and covert intelligence gathering on a terror network operating within the Dadaab refugee camps led to the interception of a cache of weapons allegedly destined for use in the capital.

Authorities reportedly recovered arms and ammunition, including approximately 600 bullets, pistols, grenades, explosives, and drugs.

The items are believed to have been intended for attacks in Nairobi.

Security sources indicate that the suspects were allegedly planning to carry out the attack during the month of Ramadhan.

Investigations further suggest that the group was also exploring possibilities of kidnapping foreigners and hijacking vehicles as part of their operations.

Kenya has in the past faced terror threats linked to Al-Shabaab, prompting sustained counterterrorism measures across the country, particularly in major urban centers and border regions.
