Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic death of Kenyan student Edna Mmbali Ombakho, whose body was discovered in a river in Berkshire, United Kingdom.
In a heartfelt message, Chesang described the news as deeply sad and disturbing, revealing that the late Edna was the daughter of Mrs. Ombakho, his former teacher at Kitale Academy, and sister to Elsie and Jessie Ombakho.
According to reports, Edna had travelled to the United Kingdom to pursue a Master’s degree at York St John University.
However, she was reported missing for several weeks before her body was later recovered from the river.
The senator termed the incident a devastating loss and sent his condolences to the grieving family during this painful moment.
“I pray for eternal peace for her soul, and may God grant comfort, strength, and grace to the Ombakho family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her during this very difficult time,” Chesang said.
The tragic discovery has left many Kenyans mourning and demanding answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the young student’s death.
Authorities in the United Kingdom are expected to continue investigations into the incident.
