A businessman in Embakasi narrowly escaped a daylight robbery after suspected thugs trailed him from a local bank moments after withdrawing cash.

Surveillance footage shows a Nissan X-Trail shadowing the unsuspecting businessman from the bank to his workplace in what detectives believe was a carefully coordinated plan.

The thugs then parked their vehicle right next to the victim’s car, a clear sign that they had been monitoring his every move.

Minutes later, the businessman’s vehicle was found with a shattered window, believed to have been smashed in an attempt to steal the cash.

Luckily, their mission failed after it emerged that the businessman had already secured the money elsewhere.

Preliminary investigations have traced the suspicious Nissan X-Trail to a private company in Nairobi, with detectives now working to establish the identities of those behind the foiled heist.

Police are urging members of the public—especially businesspersons—to remain vigilant after making bank transactions, warning that criminals are increasingly using surveillance tactics to trail their targets.
