The Directorate Of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has exposed photos of four police officers who have been selling guns to criminals in Kenya to commit crimes across the country.

The four suspects were dramatically unmasked following weeks of intensive surveillance. They include:

ASP Ekidor Lotira Charles, a senior prisons officer based in Turkana.

Corporal Isaac Kipngetich, attached to the Turkana County Police Headquarters.

Constable Ileli Cyrus Kisamwa, an armourer at the Central Firearms Stores in Nairobi’s Industrial Area.

Constable Samson Muriithi Mutongu, who worked as a storeman at the same facility.

According to DCI, the officers were linked to missing firearms and ammunition from state stores. Intelligence gathered through forensic checks and surveillance exposed their involvement in a dangerous network that has been quietly arming criminal groups.

The operation reached its climax when Corporal Kipngetich was intercepted while receiving a shocking consignment of 1,000 rounds of ammunition, allegedly supplied by Constables Ileli and Mutongu. Investigators believe the ammunition was intended for ASP Lotira.

Subsequent raids unearthed even more damning evidence. From Constable Mutongu, officers recovered 19 assorted magazines, firing pins, cleaning kits, and three spent cartridges. Constable Ileli was also found in possession of a Remington Rand Model 1911 pistol along with Ceska pistol firing pins, raising further suspicion of the scale of the racket.

The arrest of the four police officers has sparked outrage among Kenyans, with many questioning how trusted officers tasked with protecting the nation could instead engage in activities that empower criminals. The National Police Service has issued a strong statement promising zero tolerance for officers who betray public trust, vowing that anyone caught abetting crime will face the full force of the law.
