A new development has emerged in the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo, after her mother formally wrote to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) seeking an inquest into the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s passing.
In the letter, the family expresses dissatisfaction with the initial explanation offered regarding Betty’s death and is now pushing for a thorough, independent investigation to establish what truly happened.
According to the mother, she does not believe illness was the cause of Betty’s death, stating that her daughter had no known underlying medical conditions.
She further claims that the family was denied access to medical records and the autopsy report, and that the burial was conducted hastily, raising concerns about whether key details were withheld.
Betty’s mother, who currently lives in the United States, reiterated her concerns during a recent virtual interview with a popular TikToker.
In the interview, she revealed that her daughter had allegedly been in what she described as a difficult and troubled marriage, though she did not provide further details.
She is now urging authorities to examine all possible circumstances surrounding Betty’s death to ensure nothing is overlooked.
Below is the letter she submitted to the DPP.
