A Nairobi man was left in utter shock after realising that the 90 kg bag of maize he had bought in Sachangwan was nothing but a sack filled with sand and stones.
According to reports, the man thought he had struck a good deal and happily ferried the sack all the way to Nairobi.
But upon opening it, his excitement quickly turned into disbelief.
Inside, only two small containers of maize were found—the rest was construction material cleverly packed to mimic the weight and look of a full maize sack.
The bizarre incident has since gone viral, with netizens flooding social media with mixed reactions.
Some sympathised with the victim, while others couldn’t help but turn the ordeal into comic relief.
This incident underscores the growing wave of roadside fraud, where unsuspecting buyers are conned by tricksters posing as genuine traders.
