An exposé by The Standard has brought to light disturbing allegations surrounding a man identified as Willis Akoth, also known as “World Boss,” who is reportedly linked to orchestrating violence in the Nyanza region.
According to the publication, Akoth is alleged to have built a network of goons used to carry out coordinated attacks, some of which have reportedly resulted in fatalities and serious injuries.
The report claims that his operations have instilled fear in parts of the region, raising fresh concerns over the growing trend of politically linked violence.
The Standard further alleges that Akoth has connections to influential politicians and senior state officials, relationships that may have enabled him to operate with relative impunity.
He is reportedly tasked with mobilizing goons to cause havoc in the region and silence critics.
Additionally, the report claims that he is on the payroll of certain political figures and high-ranking government operatives, suggesting a deeper link between organised violence and political interests.
The revelation comes days after the violent attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi at a restaurant in Kisumu by rowdy goons.
The attack is alleged to have been politically instigated, even as detectives continue with investigations after arresting three suspects.
