Officers from the National Police Service intercepted a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) matatu with registration number KCS 884N, which was traveling from Nairobi to Maua, following a tip-off from the public.
Upon conducting a thorough search, the officers discovered approximately 25 kilograms of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa.
The drugs had been concealed in a black suitcase, a black backpack, and a white carrier bag.
The vehicle’s driver informed officers that the luggage belonged to two passengers, who were immediately arrested.
The suspects have been detained at Meru Police Station pending processing and arraignment in court.
The National Police Service commends the swift and coordinated efforts of the officers involved in this successful operation.
