Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a triumphant entry into Narok Town on Monday, despite what he described as efforts by authorities to block his campaign for DCP Party candidate Hon. Douglas Masikonde.
In a statement shared on social media, Gachagua claimed that clear instructions had been issued to prevent him and his entourage from accessing the town.
Undeterred, he said he engaged local villagers who guided him through lesser-known paths, allowing him to enter Narok Town and be greeted by thousands of jubilant supporters.
“Being a villager, I engaged my fellow villagers who guided me through village paths unknown to the police and made a triumphant entry in Narok Town,” Gachagua posted online. “How can you beat me in my game?”
The former DP also lashed out at what he described as attempts to intimidate voters through “roadblocks, bullets, stones, and teargas,” declaring that the will of the people remains supreme.
He thanked the youth and residents of Narok for standing firm, insisting that no force or “blood money” could subvert the people’s choice in the upcoming November 27th by-elections.
Photos from the event show Gachagua wearing military-style headgear and leading supporters through the town.
