Controversial Nairobi businessman Jimal Rohosafi, popularly known for his high-profile marriage to influencer Amber Ray, is on the spot after being accused of defrauding more than 2,500 Nairobi residents of over Ksh24 million through his company, Huduma Credit.
According to multiple victims, the firm had been operating a “Lipa Pole Pole” payment plan, promising to deliver electric motorbikes to clients who made deposits and continued paying weekly or daily installments.
However, for the past two months, customers claim they have neither received their motorbikes nor refunds — despite completing full or partial payments.
Earlier this week, dozens of angry residents stormed Huduma Credit offices in Nairobi’s Central Business District, demanding refunds and accusing the company of running a well-coordinated scam.
“They told us to pay small deposits and start paying in installments. Two months later, no motorbikes, no updates — just excuses,” one frustrated client told reporters.
Sources indicate that Jimal, who has been the public face and brand ambassador of Huduma Credit, has gone silent since the complaints surfaced.
Employees at the firm reportedly told clients that management was “handling internal issues” and urged them to remain patient — a statement many victims now dismiss as another attempt to buy time.
Several victims insist they have been “fed with lies” and now believe the company was a fraudulent operation from the start.
The incident has since sparked outrage on social media, with Kenyans demanding immediate investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK).
Many users have also accused Jimal of exploiting his social media influence to gain public trust and lure unsuspecting citizens into the alleged scam.
