A senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader made a bold and provocative claim on Tuesday, asserting that Iranian intelligence services know exactly where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu holds his meetings and that Tehran maintains comprehensive surveillance of both American and Israeli targets across the region.
Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a 74-year-old former Revolutionary Guard commander who now serves as military advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, made the remarks as hostilities between Iran and Israel continue to intensify. He claimed that recent Israeli strikes had landed on empty sites, suggesting Iran had received advance warning and evacuated the locations before the bombs fell.

Safavi framed his comments not as a boast but as a signal of preparedness, indicating that Iran is mentally and militarily positioned for a prolonged confrontation rather than a swift resolution.
The remarks come against a backdrop of escalating violence. U.S.-Israeli strikes have targeted Iranian missile infrastructure, while Iran has responded with waves of drones and ballistic missiles that have collectively caused over 1,000 casualties across the region.
Not everyone is taking Safavi’s claims at face value. Israeli commentator Hillel Fuld was quick to point out the obvious contradiction, noting that if Iran genuinely possessed that level of intelligence on Netanyahu’s whereabouts, announcing it publicly would be the last thing they would do.
It is a fair point. In the world of military intelligence, the most dangerous knowledge is the kind nobody talks about.
