Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi, has accused Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka of taking contradictory positions on the Social Health Authority (SHA).
In a post shared online, Itumbi claimed that while Kalonzo has been publicly criticizing SHA during political rallies, he is privately seeking enhanced benefits from the same program.
“Kalonzo in public rallies: SHA is not working… Kalonzo to SHA CEO in private: Enhance my SHA coverage,” Itumbi alleged.
He went further to interpret the alleged move as an indication that the opposition leader does not fully believe his own criticism of the system.
“Interpretation: SHA is working, please pay more for me as a former VP so that I enjoy more SHA benefits,” he added, claiming that evidence to support his assertions would be released.
Itumbi also suggested that the contrasting positions reflect political messaging aimed at appealing to the public while pursuing personal interests behind the scenes.
“To wananchi, SHA is not working, elect me to fix it. To your selfish interest, please serikali nilipie SHA,” he wrote.
Kalonzo, who has declared his interest in the presidency ahead of the 2027 General Election, has been a vocal critic of SHA, often stating that it is not functional and has been marred by alleged corruption.
