Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua has shared a reassuring update on the health of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju after visiting him at Karen Hospital.
Taking to social media, Karua revealed that she had checked in on Tuju and was pleased with his recovery progress.
“I visited Raphael Tuju this morning at Karen Hospital. I am glad that he is recovering well,” she said, sharing a photo of the former CS on his hospital bed where he appeared stable.
Tuju, a seasoned politician and former Jubilee Party Secretary General, was taken to Karen Hospital on Wednesday after his health reportedly deteriorated.
His hospitalization came just moments before he was due to be arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts over allegations of providing false information to authorities, claiming that unknown individuals were trailing him—an incident that reportedly prompted him to go into hiding.
Beyond his current legal troubles, Tuju has also been battling longstanding financial woes tied to a multi-billion-shilling loan dispute with the East African Development Bank (EADB).
The protracted case has put his high-value assets, including the Dari Business Park in Karen, at risk of auction as creditors seek to recover the debt.
Karua’s update has since reassured his supporters, with many expressing relief at his improving condition as he continues to face both legal and financial challenges.
