A Nairobi family is living in anguish after their daughter mysteriously went missing in Kisumu, where she had gone earlier this month to visit a friend.
According to her brother, the family last communicated with her on October 9th, after which her phone went off and has remained unreachable since.
On Sunday morning, the brother received a worrying message from her friend in Kisumu, identified only as Eve, who broke the news that the young woman had vanished after a night out.
“Hae, it’s Eve, the lady who has your daughter in Kisumu. She’s been missing since the 9th. The last place she was seen was at Nilotes Lounge, Kondele. I tried doing my investigations and was told she left with three guys to a different club. I don’t know her whereabouts up to now — I’ve moved to places looking for her and haven’t heard any feedback,” read part of the message.
The missing woman’s phone has remained switched off since that night, and all efforts by family and friends to trace her have been unsuccessful.
Her distraught brother said that the family is confused and doesn’t know where to start the search.
“She went to Kisumu to visit her friend, and now we can’t reach her. Our parents are devastated,” he said.
The family is now appealing to members of the public with any information that could help trace her to report to the nearest police station or reach out directly through their contacts.
Police in Kisumu have reportedly been notified, and investigations into the disappearance have begun.
