There are growing political murmurs within Nairobi County over a possible impeachment motion targeting Governor Johnson Sakaja.
According to multiple political sources, a section of Members of the County Assembly is allegedly mobilizing support for a motion that could be tabled in the coming days.
While claims circulating in political circles suggest that influential figures at the national level may be backing the move, no official communication has been issued to confirm the existence of such a plan.
Speculation has also emerged that, should an impeachment motion succeed, the Deputy Governor would constitutionally assume office.
Some observers interpret the reported developments as part of broader political realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election, particularly with shifting dynamics in the Mt. Kenya voting bloc.
At the same time, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has recently taken a more visible role in certain county-related engagements.
Governor Sakaja continues to discharge his constitutional mandate, overseeing administrative and security functions within the county.
