In an update shared after an inspection tour of the facility, Tuya said that the main structural works of the stadium have already been finalized, with current efforts focused on completing the remaining works to make the facility fully operational and compliant with international standards.
The stadium is one of Kenya’s key infrastructure projects as the country prepares to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“Current efforts are focused on final works to ensure the stadium is fully operational and meets international standards in readiness for AFCON 2027,” Tuya noted.
The Defence CS also highlighted the critical role being played by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in overseeing the construction of the project.
During the inspection, Tuya was accompanied by senior officials from the Kenya Defence Forces, including Brigadier Titus Sokobe, the Chief of Infrastructure at the Defence Headquarters, Architect Major Victor King’e, and other senior KDF officers involved in the project.
