A team of mobile phone agents has criticised officers at Mathare Police Station for failing to act after a robbery in Mabatini, where they were lured under the pretext of a sale, only to be ambushed by a group of young men who made away with ten phones.
The victims say that after reporting the incident, police took no meaningful steps beyond issuing an OB and kept demanding bribes before offering assistance.
They are now appealing to members of the public to help trace a woman identified as Beryl Omanyo, also known as Veroh, who they believe played a central role in the setup and is still believed to be within the Mathare area.
“Hello Cyprian. Kindly help to report this lady so that people be aware of her, her names are Beryl Omanyo, her famous name is Veroh, she used to live Mathare Mabatini, very famous lady in that area.
