Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has ignited intense public debate after sharing photos of a young woman he claims was allegedly involved in a secret relationship with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to Kuria, the woman—identified as Maureen Kinyua from Kiamariga in Nyeri County—was allegedly impregnated by Gachagua under circumstances that have now become the subject of widespread online controversy.
Kuria further alleged that after news of the alleged pregnancy emerged, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, the former deputy president’s wife, was involved in a plot that led to the young woman’s death. These claims, however, remain unverified and have not been confirmed by investigative authorities.
In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Kuria wrote:
“Rigathi Gachagua impregnated a girl from Mathira. Pastor Dorcas covered that by killing the girl. We are not stupid!!”
Maureen Kinyua was reportedly working as a personal assistant to the Ruguru Ward MCA at the time of her death. She allegedly died in what was reported as a road accident in Sagana, where she was said to have been hit by a vehicle and died on the spot.
Questions have since been raised online after claims surfaced that the accident may have been stage-managed, citing the fact that the driver involved was allegedly arrested and later released on a KSh 50,000 bond. No official statement has been issued confirming these assertions.
The allegations have sparked heated reactions across social media, with many Kenyans calling for independent investigations to establish the truth behind the tragic death and the serious claims being circulated.
Below are the photos of the late Maureen Kinyua, at the centre of the claims linking her to Rigathi Gachagua and the circumstances surrounding her death.
