New details and photos have emerged showing the Nairobi hotel where veteran journalist and KBC Mayienga FM head, Festus Amimo, collapsed and died over the weekend while in the company of a woman identified as Collata Ann Ngesa.
According to a police report, Ngesa alerted the hotel management after Amimo suddenly collapsed during their private moments together. Security officers rushed to the room immediately and found the renowned broadcaster unconscious and unresponsive.
Medical personnel were called in, but despite their efforts, Amimo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officers processed the scene before transferring the body to the City Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination.
Preliminary information suggests that Amimo may have experienced medical complications. Some sources have claimed that his death could be linked to a possible reaction associated with the use of “bl3e pills.” However, detectives have maintained that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after a full medical examination, and investigations are still underway.
The woman who was with him at the time has already recorded a statement as part of routine police procedures. She is reported to be a junior employee at KBC.
