Following the attack on Hon. Peter Kaluma at Agoro Sare Primary School polling station during the Kasipul Constituency by-election on 27th November 2025, police launched an intensive manhunt for the suspected perpetrators.
During the operation, officers intercepted five vehicles and two motorcycles linked to the suspects.
A thorough search led to the arrest of sixteen suspected armed thugs, who were found in possession of ten pangas, five knives, as well as rungus and stones.
All the suspects are currently being held in police custody awaiting arraignment in court.
The National Police Service (NPS) reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring peaceful, secure, and transparent electoral processes across the country.
The Service added that it will continue to intensify operations nationwide to deter criminal activity, safeguard public safety, and maintain law and order.
