Police officers from the Nairobi Region have uncovered an illegal operation manufacturing counterfeit honey in Umoja 2, Buruburu Estate.

The discovery was made during a well-coordinated sting operation conducted on Monday, October 6, 2025.

During the raid, officers arrested one suspect and seized several items believed to have been used in the production of the fake honey.

The exhibits included finished counterfeit honey, chemical substances, a heating coil, and a gas cylinder used in the processing.

The suspect is currently being detained at Ruai Police Station and will be arraigned in court once investigations are completed.

According to police, operations targeting counterfeit food products and other illicit goods are ongoing as part of broader efforts to protect public health and ensure consumer safety.

The National Police Service (NPS) has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious manufacturing or distribution activities in their areas.
