Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga has distanced herself from rising political operative Oketch Salah, stating that she barely knows him despite his claims that they are familiar with each other.
Speaking during an interview on KTN, Ruth expressed surprise at assertions that she has a close relationship with Salah, clarifying that their interactions have been minimal over the years.
“Who is Oketch Salah? I really don’t know him that well. I am one of the people surprised that he says he knows me. In my whole life, I have met Oketch Salah about three times,” she said.
Ruth, who is Raila Odinga’s younger sister, was categorical that she does not have any significant personal or political ties with Salah and would prefer not to be drawn into discussions about him.
“I don’t know him, and I would not like to be engaged in talking about Oketch Salah,” she added.
Oketch Salah has recently attracted public attention after introducing himself as Raila Odinga’s adopted son, a claim that has generated widespread debate in political circles and across social media platforms.
His statements regarding his alleged close relationship with the late ODM leader have sparked mixed reactions, with critics questioning his motives and others calling for clarity on the matter.
Ruth Odinga’s remarks appear aimed at setting the record straight and distancing herself from any perceived association, as public discussion around Salah’s claims continues to intensify.
