President William Ruto received a hero’s welcome in Kiambu County, barely twelve hours after clinching victory in twelve out of the twenty-four by-elections conducted across the country on Thursday.
Candidates from Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delivered an impressive performance, including in the highly watched Mbeere North race, where Leo Wamuthende emerged victorious.
On Friday, President Ruto toured Rironi for the official launch of the 170-kilometre Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Highway.
During the event, he was greeted by a massive crowd chanting “Tutams,” a clear signal that the Mt. Kenya region appears firmly aligned behind him.
Here are photos that will no doubt give Rigathi Gachagua and the united opposition a sleepless night.
