Officers from Yala Police Station on a routine mobile patrol along the Butere-Ulumbi road intercepted a suspicious Toyota Caldina (registration KBK 404G) early Monday morning, reportedly carrying three suspected stolen cows.
According to the National Police Service, the four occupants of the vehicle fled on foot, abandoning the car.
During a subsequent search, officers recovered a kitchen knife and a mobile phone from the scene.
The vehicle has been impounded at Yala Police Station pending further processing, while the recovered exhibits have been secured.
Police say investigations are ongoing, with teams following crucial leads to trace and apprehend the suspects, who will face the necessary legal action once caught.
The National Police Service commended the officers involved for their vigilance and commitment to duty, emphasizing their role in protecting public property and upholding the law.
