A dramatic scene unfolded outside Parliament Buildings on Thursday as a group of individuals posing as mourners of the late Raila Amolo Odinga were caught on camera stealing one of the metallic gates.

The incident occurred as thousands of Kenyans gathered to pay their last respects to the late opposition leader before the government moved the public viewing venue from Parliament to Kasarani Stadium.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects blended in with genuine mourners before dismantling and carrying away the gate in broad daylight.

Security officers were left momentarily stunned as the group disappeared into the crowd.

Later, videos shared widely on social media showed several men carrying the stolen gate through Grogon in downtown Nairobi, where it was reportedly being taken to be sold to unscrupulous scrap metal dealers.
