TV47 journalist Samira Mohammed has opened up about her experience while conducting an investigative report at Prophet David Owuor’s palatial residence in Runda, offering a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the controversial ministry.
Speaking about the assignment, Samira described an environment she said appeared highly controlled, with followers displaying what she termed as extreme reverence towards the preacher.
According to the journalist, congregants are reportedly discouraged from physically touching Owuor, with many believing he is holy.
She further claimed that during meetings, the preacher maintains strict authority over his followers and often speaks harshly to some members of the congregation.
“He is not a good man,” Samira alleged, adding that many worshippers appeared deeply devoted and seemingly fearful of questioning him.
The ministry, which commands a large following across the country, has long sparked debate among Kenyans, with critics questioning its practices while supporters defend the preacher’s leadership and teachings.
