Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has penned a deeply emotional message to his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, as she celebrates her 60th birthday, describing her as the pillar of their family and a living testimony of God’s grace.
In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Gachagua reflected on the difficult season their family endured exactly a year ago, when Dorcas marked her 59th birthday in hospital.
“This day a year ago, we were huddled in a hospital room — sick, humiliated, devastated, confused, betrayed, beaten, and abandoned,” he wrote. “You were in tears on your birthday.”
Gachagua went on to thank God for His mercy and favour, noting that the family has since found healing and renewed joy.
“A year later, God has put a smile back on our faces. Our home is full of joy. As we celebrate your 60th birthday, our family stands as a clear testimony that God is no man,” he added.
Gachagua’s post comes days after he skipped former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s state funeral at the Nyayo Stadium, which attended by leaders across the political divide.
