Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has spoken out to set the record straight on allegations that she is President William Ruto’s mole, allegedly planted to gather intelligence on the opposition led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The controversy arose after claims by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah, who reportedly suggested that Wamuchomba had been working with the government while publicly portraying herself as part of the opposition.
According to reports, Ichung’wah alleged during his father’s burial that Wamuchomba had been passing confidential information about opposition activities to the ruling party.

However, Wamuchomba has strongly denied these accusations.
Speaking to the media, she challenged those spreading the allegations to provide concrete evidence, specifically a video clip of Ichung’wah making such statements.

“Honourable Kimani spoke in my presence, and at no point did he mention or imply what certain sections of the media are claiming. Even if he did, how credible is he? I have demanded proof in the form of a video clip, but none has been produced. In fact, some individuals have already apologised for spreading false reports,” Wamuchomba asserted.
She went on to express her frustration, stating that the situation had led to her being unfairly branded a traitor and a betrayer.
“From this experience, I have been labelled a traitor and a betrayer, simply because of a sincere act of compassion for something I neither said nor did,” she lamented.
Wamuchomba explained that she had attended the burial to stand in solidarity with her close friend, Ichung’wah’s elder sister, Wandai Ichung’wah, popularly known as Cûcû wa County, who was mourning the loss of their father.
She revealed that her presence at the event was purely out of empathy and personal support but had unfortunately been misinterpreted and weaponised against her politically.
The MP dismissed the allegations as a political witch-hunt, saying they were part of a calculated attempt to intimidate and silence her, despite her unwavering commitment to serving her constituents and advocating for all Kenyans, regardless of social class or political affiliation.
Nevertheless, despite her public denial, a section of Kenyans, particularly from the Mt. Kenya region, remains skeptical. Many continue to believe that Wamuchomba is secretly working with President Ruto to monitor the activities of the opposition alliance, which includes Gachagua and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
