The curtain has finally fallen on a notorious father-and-son con team that has been terrorizing M-Pesa agents in Nairobi.
The duo – 49-year-old Peter Mwendwa Musyoka and his 23-year-old son Dennis Musyoka – were dramatically arrested at their hideout in Nyama Villa Estate, Komarock, after Shauri Moyo detectives trailed digital footprints linking them to a Sh236,000 M-Pesa fraud at Gikomba market on September 2, 2025.
During the raid, detectives recovered piles of evidence, including used and unused SIM cards, multiple ID cards, agent and paybill numbers from Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom, as well as laptops and smartphones believed to have been their tools of trade.
Investigations have revealed that the father was the criminal mastermind, grooming his son into the shady business of swindling unsuspecting M-Pesa operators.
Together, they are said to be part of a larger fraud syndicate targeting mobile money dealers across Nairobi.
Both suspects are cooling their heels in police custody, pending arraignment, as detectives intensify their manhunt for other members of the cartel.
