Police officers from Bondo Police Station in Bondo Sub-County have intercepted a motorcycle transporting a consignment of narcotic drugs along the Bondo–Ratiya Road.
During the operation, the rider was arrested while a pillion passenger managed to escape on foot.
A subsequent search led to the recovery of 65 brooms of suspected cannabis sativa, concealed in a metallic box and two bags. The drugs have an estimated street value of Ksh 32,500.
The suspect is currently in police custody pending processing and arraignment in court, while the exhibits have been secured at the station.
The National Police Service commended the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
