Police officers on patrol in Kinoo, Kiambu County, on Monday morning rescued a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer from a gang of suspected robbers after a high-speed chase.
The rescue followed a swift response to a report of a suspicious vehicle spotted in the area in the early hours of the morning.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the occupants attempted to flee, prompting officers to give chase.
Two suspects were eventually cornered and arrested.
To their shock, police discovered a man tied up and blindfolded in the boot of the vehicle — later identified as a KWS officer travelling to Nairobi.
The officer reported that the thugs had transferred money from his M-Pesa account and had been robbing passengers along the route before their arrest.
Police recovered several stolen mobile phones from the suspects, believed to be linked to other robbery incidents.
A manhunt for additional suspects who escaped the scene is currently underway as investigations continue.
