Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director Philip Etale has left many Kenyans surprised after telling former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua not to mourn the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Odinga passed away last month and was mourned by millions of Kenyans, including President William Ruto and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
His remains were laid to rest in a state funeral held in Bondo, where citizens from all walks of life continued to send their condolences to the family, describing him as a noble statesman and a political enigma.
On Saturday, while addressing a function in Thika, Gachagua joined other Kenyans in mourning Raila Odinga, expressing his admiration for Raila’s political party and leadership style.
However, Etale, who is not even related to the late ODM leader, surprised many when he urged Gachagua not to mourn Raila Odinga.
Below is a screenshot of Philip Etale’s statement directed at Gachagua, telling him not to mourn the late Raila Odinga.
