Ruto In Panic Mode As He Sends Emissaries To Kalonzo To Convince Him To Abandon Gachagua’s Bandwagon – Here’s The Offer

With the 2027 presidential election fast approaching, President William Ruto and his allies appear to be in panic mode, running helter-skelter as they try to devise ways of securing victory in what is shaping up to be a two-horse race between him and the united opposition led by his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

The odds are heavily stacked against the Head of State, largely due to last year’s and this year’s brutal crackdowns on peaceful protesters and the killing of Gen Z youth. Fearing the possibility of becoming a one-term president, Ruto is frantically crafting strategies to avoid a humiliating defeat in the high-stakes 2027 presidential contest.

One of his key strategies is to destabilise the united opposition by wooing former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Democratic Action Party leader Eugene Wamalwa to his side. However, Ruto’s manoeuvres are calculated mainly to weaken the opposition’s unity, with a particular focus on targeting Kalonzo and Eugene.

Despite numerous overtures from the president’s emissaries, Kalonzo has repeatedly rejected any attempts to align himself with the government. His firm stance has now pushed Ruto’s strategists to shift their attention towards Eugene Wamalwa, who is viewed as a crucial figure in consolidating support from the Luhya community and the broader Western region.

The Head of State already enjoys the backing of two senior Luhya leaders—Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula—who are now being tasked with persuading Eugene to cross over.

At the same time, Ruto has reportedly sent KANU Chairman Gideon Moi to reach out to Kalonzo Musyoka and convince him to join the government. According to reliable sources, Ruto has promised Kalonzo a powerful Deputy President position, assuring him that he would never face impeachment like his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

Kalonzo is also said to have been offered several billions of shillings as an incentive to abandon Gachagua and the opposition camp ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
