Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has finally seen the light and apologised to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for previously branding him a tribal demagogue after his impeachment last year.
Miguna, who has for months been echoing President William Ruto’s online propaganda, has frequently criticised Gachagua, calling him all sorts of names and accusing him of being a tribal and divisive leader.
However, on Tuesday, Miguna appeared to have realised that he had been unknowingly echoing the government’s propaganda narrative against Gachagua.
The Osgoode Hall Law School-trained lawyer, in a written apology to Gachagua, admitted that he had been used as a pawn by Ruto’s allies to attack the former deputy president.
Miguna expressed regret for his earlier remarks, clarifying that it was Ruto’s propaganda machinery that had circulated false claims alleging that Gachagua was demanding a 50 percent share of government from Kalonzo Musyoka in exchange for supporting his 2027 presidential bid.
“This is to sincerely apologise to Mr. @rigathi for sharing what appears to be a fake screenshot of what he purportedly said about a 50/50 power-sharing arrangement with @skmusyoka,” Miguna wrote.
Below is Miguna Miguna’s full statement apologising to Gachagua.
