A man identified as Deno Ruto is recovering in hospital after surviving a terrifying robbery attack in Kawangware on Saturday night.
According to a close friend, the attack happened at around 8 PM, when a group of assailants — some reportedly known to him — cornered Deno, viciously beat him, stabbed him in the leg, and stomped on his chest, leaving him unconscious on the roadside.
Hours later, police officers on patrol stumbled upon his motionless body past midnight.
Believing he had already died, they began transporting him to the mortuary.
But in a shocking twist, the officers decided to seek medical confirmation at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
It was there that medics discovered that Deno was still breathing, clinging to life by a thread.
He was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors managed to stabilise him.
Deno has since been moved out of ICU and is expected to be discharged soon, marking a remarkable survival from what many thought was a fatal night.
