Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has expressed heartfelt condolences following the death of veteran politician and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, sharing reflections on his time working closely with him.
In a moving tweet, Sudi revealed that he served as Jirongo’s trusted assistant for three and a half years, from 2009 to mid-2012, during which he witnessed firsthand the late politician’s dedication, passion, and kindness.
“One thing that stood out about Jirongo was his ability to sell hope to us. Even when he had no money, he would tell you that you’ll get money in the next one hour. Jirongo would confidently tell us that we’d solve the money problem, with such conviction that you’d believe it was already done,” Sudi wrote.
Describing Jirongo as a true leader who inspired those around him, Sudi said his leadership style left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of mourning. Rest in peace, my good friend Jirongo,” he concluded.
Jirongo, a prominent political figure known for his boldness, charisma, and ability to connect with people across the country, tragically perished in a fatal accident when his Mercedes-Benz collided head-on with a bus.
