Residents of Kiamuthambi village in Kirinyaga Central are reeling in shock after a gang of more than 20 armed suspects raided the home of businesswoman Rose Muriuki and stripped her high-end Lexus vehicle worth approximately Ksh 35 million.

According to family members, the gang arrived in two vehicles shortly after midnight and gained access to the well-fenced compound with alarming ease.

Their first target was the watchman, Anthony Namanda, who was quickly overpowered and tied up before he could raise the alarm.

“They came quietly and tied me up before I could even react,” Namanda recounted, noting that the attackers appeared highly organized and seemed to know exactly what they were after.

The gang then accessed the main house where Rose Muriuki and her female friend were asleep.

Reports indicate that the suspects sprayed an unknown substance into the bedroom, rendering the two women unconscious.

With no resistance, the criminals reportedly spent hours dismantling the luxury vehicle, removing valuable spare parts in a carefully coordinated operation that is believed to have lasted from around midnight until 4 a.m.

The victims only became aware of the incident when they regained consciousness in hospital at approximately 9 a.m. the following morning.

John Muriuki Kiama, a family member, described the attack as shocking and unprecedented.

“In over 40 years of owning vehicles, I have never witnessed anything like this,” he said.

Residents suspect the gang may not have been locals but rather experienced criminals from Nairobi with specialized knowledge in dismantling high-end vehicles.

Anne Mwaniki noted that nearly every valuable component of the Lexus had been removed, demonstrating a high level of expertise.

Detectives have since visited the scene and launched investigations aimed at identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.

The family says it is still struggling to come to terms with the incident, which has left them shaken and deeply concerned about their security.
