A visit to an extended family in a rural home turned tragic after unknown attackers set fire to a vehicle that had been hired by a man staying there.

The incident happened at night when the assailants reportedly entered the compound, doused the parked vehicle with petrol, and torched it before escaping.

The owner noticed the fire and raised the alarm, prompting family members to rush to the scene.

They tried to extinguish the flames using water, but the fire had already spread too far. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

Authorities have since launched investigations to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the suspects involved.
