A disturbing incident in which a woman attempted to harm a man using car battery acid has sparked public concern, with Nairobi County vocal Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria strongly condemning the act and calling for swift police action.
Taking to his X account, Mosiria described the attack as deeply troubling and unacceptable, emphasizing that even though the attempt may not have succeeded as intended, it still amounts to a serious criminal offense.
He warned that if the substance used had been pure, undiluted sulphuric acid, the consequences could have been devastating, potentially leaving the victim with life-threatening injuries.
Mosiria urged law enforcement agencies to move quickly to investigate the matter and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
He stressed that decisive legal action is necessary not only to deliver justice but also to deter similar incidents in the future.
The outspoken county official also raised alarm over a growing trend on social media, where videos have surfaced showing women harassing and, in some cases, physically assaulting men.
“It is concerning that there has been limited public condemnation from leaders, particularly those in positions of authority,” Mosiria noted.
At the same time, he acknowledged that some individuals involved in such acts may be grappling with underlying mental health challenges, including depression.
“As a society, we must promote mutual respect, accountability, and peaceful coexistence among all,” Mosiria concluded.
