Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made explosive allegations surrounding the death of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, claiming that the legislator’s death was planned and involved a helicopter that was refuelled with adulterated jet fuel.
Speaking during a press briefing, Gachagua alleged that Ng’eno was assassinated through a carefully coordinated plan involving the helicopter he was travelling in and a consignment of fuel transported from Lodwar to Eldoret.
According to Gachagua, the helicopter dropped Ng’eno at Endebess before the pilot was ordered to fly to Eldoret for refuelling.
Gachagua claimed that upon arrival at Eldoret Airport, a Land Cruiser that was expected to transport the fuel from Lodwar had already arrived.
However, he alleged that airport marshals initially blocked and arrested the driver of the vehicle.
The former Deputy President claimed the situation changed after the marshals received a phone call from a senior government official.
According to Gachagua, the official threatened the marshals and ordered them to release the driver so that the helicopter could be refuelled.
“The marshals received a phone call from a Senior Government Official threatening them to release the driver to fuel that chopper or they’ll be killed,” Gachagua claimed.
He further alleged that the helicopter was subsequently refuelled with adulterated fuel, which caused an engine problem shortly after take-off.
Gachagua claimed the helicopter was unable to gain sufficient altitude, forcing the pilot to land and attempt another take-off.
He alleged that the effects of the fuel problem ultimately contributed to the crash and the death of Ng’eno.
“The pilot landed and tried to take off but the timelines for the adulterated fuel had ticked and Johana Ngeno perished,” Gachagua claimed.
