-Four men, including two interdicted police officers, have been arrested in Kasarani, Nairobi, for masquerading as police officers and robbing members of the public.
According to a police report, the suspects are Police Constable Silas Onyango Okello, who was interdicted in March 2023 while attached to Kahawa Sukari Police Station, and Constable Oliver Juma Boge, who was interdicted in March 2018 while attached to Railways Police Station.
The other two suspects were identified as Stephen Okello Ombewa and Job Sindiga Munibi.
The four were reportedly using a grey Toyota Allion, registration number KCN 371M, to target members of the public within Kasarani and other areas.
Their latest alleged victim, Silas Mwangi Wahogo, was reportedly arrested by the suspects on claims that he was smoking marijuana and forced to pay Sh15,000 to secure his release.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects could be linked to several cases of robbery with violence, kidnapping and extortion within Nairobi and Central regions.
The suspects are in police custody as investigations continue.
