A heated exchange unfolded during a live television interview after Kitutu Chache South MP Antoney Kibagendi alleged that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen issued instructions to police officers to use lethal force during the Linda Mwananchi rally held in Kitengela.

Speaking on Citizen TV during an interview with Sam Gituku, Kibagendi claimed that the police actions witnessed on Sunday at the rally, organized by ousted ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and other opposition leaders, were deliberate and politically instigated.

“The CS gave instructions to the police officers to kill to intimidate us,” Kibagendi alleged.

The show host immediately sought clarification over the gravity of the accusation.

“Are you saying that CS Murkomen gave instructions to kill?” Gituku asked.

In response, Kibagendi questioned the conduct of officers deployed at the Kitengela rally, citing the shooting of a civilian during the incident.

“Why did that police officer shoot an innocent Kenyan that was running away from the police and we were having a peaceful meeting?” he posed.

The MP maintained that the gathering was peaceful and lawful, arguing that the use of force was excessive and unjustified.
