KNH Radiotherapy Machine Breaks Down For Months as Poor Cancer Patients Suffer in Silence- Whistleblower Cries Out For Urgent Intervention

Reports have emerged indicating that a key radiotherapy unit at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has been out of service for several months, leaving thousands of cancer patients stranded and unable to access life-saving treatment.

A concerned citizen, who requested anonymity, sent the following distress message highlighting the gravity of the situation:”Hello Cyprian. I like the way you speak boldly on the vices in the public sector without fear or favour. There is a very serious issue that no one is highlighting yet it is causing pain and death to our poor cancer patients. The radiotherapy machine in KNH has not been working for several months now and unfortunately most cancer patients can’t afford to pay for radiotherapy in private hospitals. Can you kindly raise this issue as your voice is loud. Kindly let me remain anonymous. I am just a concerned citizen. Regards.”

The breakdown has reportedly forced many low-income patients to postpone or abandon treatment altogether, as private facilities charge fees far beyond their reach.

The Ministry of Health and KNH management are yet to address the growing public concern over the stalled machine and the impact on patients whose survival depends on timely radiotherapy.
