Royal Media Services Chairman S.K. Macharia has assured Kenyans that ODM leader Raila Odinga is in good health and will be returning to the country soon.
Speaking in Siaya County on Monday, Macharia revealed that he had personally spoken with Raila both that morning and the previous day, confirming that the former Prime Minister was doing “very well.”
“This morning I spoke with Raila. Even yesterday we spoke, and he is very healthy — walking around and jumping. He will be back with us in a few days,” Macharia stated.
The veteran media mogul further disclosed that Raila had personally informed him before traveling abroad, underscoring the close bond between their families.
“Even the day Raila left, he informed me. He can’t leave without informing me. This is my family,” he said.
Macharia, who traveled from Murang’a to Siaya for a function, also reflected on his long-standing relationship with the Odinga family, tracing it back to the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
“I came all the way from Murang’a because when Mzee Oginga Odinga passed on, he left me two sons. In every election you will hear that I support Raila Odinga. Even when I receive attacks from home, I still support Raila because when I supported his father in the 1992 elections, he made me promise to take care of his two sons — Raila and Oburu Odinga,” Macharia said.
Macharia’s remarks have since reassured Raila’s supporters, who have been eager for updates on the ODM leader’s well-being during his time abroad.
