Law enforcement officers in Meru have apprehended Lucky Mwenda, a suspect notorious for impersonating police officers and allegedly terrorising members of the public in Imenti North Sub-County.
The arrest was made possible thanks to tip-offs from members of the public, enabling officers to act swiftly.
Mwenda was captured while in possession of a numberless motorcycle believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle.
A search of his belongings led to the recovery of several items, including a military jacket, a military knee pad, a military hat, a camel bag, and a dagger—items allegedly used to pose as a law enforcement officer.
Mwenda is currently in custody, undergoing processing as authorities prepare for his arraignment. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of his activities.
