Tension is boiling over in Kapseret Constituency after reports emerged that goons allegedly linked to area MP Oscar Sudi brutally attacked and left his outspoken critic, Ken Maswai, nursing serious injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack happened late Sunday evening when Maswai was ambushed by a group of men believed to be Sudi’s die-hard supporters.
The goons reportedly descended on him with crude weapons, leaving him with deep cuts and severe facial injuries.
Photos shared online show Maswai’s face swollen, bruised, and bloodied, sparking outrage among Kenyans who have condemned the incident as yet another show of political thuggery and intolerance.
Maswai, a popular social media activist known for his fierce criticism of Sudi, has in recent months been a thorn in the MP’s flesh — constantly calling him out over alleged corruption, arrogance, and misuse of public funds.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Maswai directly accused Sudi of being behind the attack, claiming he had received several threats in the days leading up to the assault.
Kenyans online have called for justice, demanding that authorities investigate and bring the culprits to book, regardless of their political connections.
