The late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s sister, Ruth Odinga, has today confirmed that she was the one who switched off the hospital machines that sent her brother to his creator on Wednesday.
Raila Odinga, 80, passed away at Devamatha Hospital in the southern Indian state of Kerala after reportedly suffering a heart attack.
According to the late premier’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, Raila was taking a walk around the hospital when he suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the emergency room, but despite several resuscitation attempts, doctors were unable to save him.
Speaking in Bondo on Saturday, Ruth, who is Raila Odinga’s younger sister, confirmed that the opposition leader had fallen into a vegetative state. She admitted that she was the one who switched off the ICU machines to release him to his maker.

Ruth Odinga also questioned why members of Gen Z were mourning Raila Odinga when, during his lifetime, many of them had openly despised him and even wished him dead.
“I was with Raila in India before he took his last breath. When I laid him down and stopped the machines, I said, ‘Kenya is lost.’ I do not know where the country is headed without Raila,” Ruth said.
“Raila died knowing that Gen Z preferred him dead. Yet now, Gen Zs are pouring out their love for him when he is gone,” she added.
Here is the video of Ruth Odinga blasting Gen Z and claiming she was the one who switched off ICU machines to send Raila Odinga to his maker.
