President William Ruto has delivered a blunt message to the international community over the ongoing crisis in Haiti, describing the global response as “unacceptable, indefensible, and simply wrong.”

Speaking during a high-level event co-hosted by Kenya and the United States on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the Head of State urged urgent and coordinated action to stabilize the Caribbean nation.

Dr. Ruto called for a clear mandate, predictable resources, and strong logistical support to enable the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission to achieve its objectives.

He underscored that the mission, despite operating at only 40 percent strength, had already delivered encouraging results on the ground.

According to the president, MSS forces have successfully driven gangs out of key strongholds, restored police facilities, reopened major roads, and helped revive schools and hospitals.

These gains, he noted, demonstrate the mission’s potential if fully resourced and backed by the international community.

“The people of Haiti have suffered long enough. The world cannot continue to watch from the sidelines,” Ruto emphasized, urging partners to step up support and reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to playing a leading role in restoring peace and stability in Haiti.
